The barcode reader can be Enabled or Disabled. 3 The SCSI Barcode Length entry sets the number of characters of the barcode returned by SCSI Read Element Data. Setting the barcode length to zero disables truncation of the barcode and the full barcode is returned in the SCSI Read Element Data. If utilizing the bar code reader, you must apply or slide the bar code labels into the appropriate slot on the front of each cartridge. The labels must conform to ANSI/AIM BC1 -1995 Uniform Symbology Specification Code 39. Refer to www. quantum. com for information on obtaining additional bar code labels. Cleaning Tape 3 To enable or disable the Auto Clean function, you must also designate a full slot for the cleaning tape cartridge. To designate the cleaning tape slot: 1 Load a cleaning tape into an empty slot using the Commands page. Note: If Auto Clean is disabled, the cleaning tape will automatically be ejected via the mailslot. Cleaning is managed by the backup package you have installed instead. Magazines 3 This setting is used to report the number of storage elements and the element address to the host. This setting must match the physical configuration in order for correct information to be reported. This setting does not affect the access to magazine slots from the front panel or On-board Remote Management. When configured for Both magazines, the autoloader always reports 16 storage elements to the host. This allows the removal and reinstallation of magazines without affecting what is reported to the host. When configured for Left or Right, the autoloader will always report eight storage elements to the host. If Left or Right is selected, and both magazines are physically installed, the front panel and On-board Remote Management allow the user access to the other magazine, but the host will not have access.
